Dan Albert "Joe" Decker

Dan Albert “Joe” Decker, age 79 of Casey, passed away at 6:16 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 2021 at his home in Casey, IL. He was born on June 29, 1941 in Rockville, IN, the son of Ed Decker and Lucille Marie (Sowers) Decker. On July 1, 1972 he married Janet LeAnn Hudson in Park County, IN.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years Janet Decker of Casey, IL; son, Stacy Lee Decker of Clinton, IN; daughter, Penny Sue Miller of Clinton, IN; brother, Charlie Decker (Judy) of St. Petersburg, FL; sisters, Rosalee Wolfe of Clinton, IN and Patty Jean Cawthon of Kingman, IN; step children, Keith Dudley (Carolyn) of Broken Arrow, OK; Diana Burks (Larry) of Rockville, IN and Brenda Dudley (Daquari Davis) of Tulsa, OK; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Randy Dean Decker; brother, Ed Decker and sister, Shirley Daughtery.

Joe worked as a machine operator for Ball-Foster in Sapulpa, OK.  He previously worked for Midland Glass Co. and Anaconda in Terre Haute, IN.  Joe was a former member of the Casey Country Club in Casey, IL.  He enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting and spending time in the outdoors.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Markwell Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, IL.  Visitation will be held from 10 – 11 a.m. prior to the service on Thursday at Markwell Funeral Home 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.  (Per CDC guidelines, 50 attendees are allowed inside our facility at a time. Attendees should social distance and wear a cloth face covering.)
