Dale Edward Hackney

Dale Edward Hackney, age 67, of Martinsville, IL passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning June 14, 2021 at his home.  He was born October 19, 1953 in Terre Haute, IN, the son of Edgar Dale Hackney and Mary Jane Bowman Hackney. 

He is survived by his mother, Mary J. Hackney of Martinsville, IL; brother, Kenneth Wayne Hackney (Julie Ann) of Martinsville, IL; sister, Sherry E. Hackney of Martinsville, IL; sister, Cindy Ann Hackney Smith (Craig) of Clayton, NC; uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar D. Hackney and brother, Randy Wade Hackney.

Dale was a 1971 graduate of Martinsville High School.  He continued his education at Lake Land College obtaining an Associate degree.  Dale was employed as a machinist for Marathon Pipeline for over 30 years.  He enjoyed target shooting, watching westerns and was a John Wayne fan.  Dale was a dedicated Bible reader. 

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Greenwell Funeral Home with Brother Billie Ray Ulrey officiating.  Burial will follow in the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville, IL.  Visitation will be held from 9 – 11 a.m. on Friday prior to the service at Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., Martinsville, IL.
