Clifford Amos Kibler, age 98, of Terre Haute, IN, formerly of Casey, IL passed away on October 29, 2020, while surrounded by loved ones. He was born May 07, 1922, in Jasper County, Illinois, to Ralph and Hazel (Parcel) Kibler. He graduated from Casey High School in 1941.
Clifford served in WWII with the US Army, marching in the Liberation of Paris and fighting in the Battle of the Buldge. Upon returning home, he continued his family's legacy of farming for 41 years. On June 23, 1946, he married Harriet Frances (Adkisson), and they were married for 66 years.
Clifford was a soft-spoken humble man who put God, his family, and his country first. He treasured time with his family as they were his pride and joy. He was a faithful member of Terre Haute Church of Christ in Terre Haute, Indiana.
He is survived by his son Roger (Lisa) Kibler of Mapleton, IL, daughter Martha Kuehn of Terre Haute, IN; sister Wilma Smith of Decatur, IL; six grandchildren Jeff Kibler of Garret, IL; Jennifer (Phil) Stewart of Savoy, IL; Lesli Kibler of Sutton, MA; Allen (Jodi) Kibler of Marshall, IL; Anne (Tony) Bubnick, of New Palestine, IN; Elizabeth (Justan) Neels of Albania; nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Harriet and son Mark, sisters Delorse Lupi, Mary Alice Shanks, Ilene Simpson, and brother Kenneth Kibler.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. CST on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Markwell Funeral Home with John Isaac Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL with graveside military rites by Casey VFW and Martinsville American Legion. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. CST on Monday evening, November 2, 2020 at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. (Per CDC guidelines, 50 attendees are allowed inside our facility at a time. Attendees should stay at least 6 feet apart and wear a cloth face covering.)
