Casandra Alyne (Helms) Edwards

Casandra Alyne Edwards, age 57, of Westfield, IL formerly of Charleston, IL passed away peacefully at 9:40 a.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at her residence with her loving family at her side. She was born November 6, 1965 in Charleston, SC, the daughter of Hubert Earl Helms and Mary Elaine McDearmid Helms.

Survivors include her children, Ashley Eckley (Christopher) of Charleston, IL, Krystin Riley (Drew) of Charleston, IL, Justin Edwards (Bayley) of Westfield, IL, Taylor Evans (Rhett) of Charleston, IL; brothers, Tony Helms (Barbara) of Lobeco, SC and Joe-Bill Helms (Michelle) of Arapahoe, NC; sister, Angela Lee (Rob) of Pooler, GA; grandchildren, Jaxon Riley, Alexa Eckley, Kasidy Riley, Kaiden Eckley, Quinten Riley, Amelia Eckley, Grace Eckley, and Beau Evans; several nieces and nephews; and bonus son, Trenton Smiley of Westfield, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Casandra was a 1983 graduate of Battery Creek High School in Beaufort, SC. She loved her job, since 2013 Casandra was the Community Relations Coordinator at Petersen Health Care. Casandra cherished her family and loved everything that had to do with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed attending all her grandchildren’s events and activities. Casandra also enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing.

Per Casandra’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be announced and held at a later time.
