Carol Duniphan Obituary

Carol Elaine Duniphan, age 54, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 2:40 p.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Regional Hospital, Terre Haute, IN.  She was born October 9, 1967 in Carmi, IL the daughter of Shirley Taylor and Brenda Kay Montgomery.  On August 23, 1986 she married George Luther Duniphan in Martinsville, IL.

Survivors include her husband of 35 years, George Duniphan of Martinsville, IL; daughter, Amy Frevele (Les) of College Station, TX and their children, Jazmyn and Rayden; her loving parents, Brenda and Doug Kuhn of Casey, IL; sister, Tammy Wilson (Howard) of Casey, IL; uncles, Terry Montgomery (Denise) of Auburn, IL; Roger Montgomery of Alabama and Gary Montgomery of Casey, IL; aunts, LaVonda Tate of Effingham, IL, Darlene Schmidt (Brian) of Mt. Vernon, IN, Connie Hammond of Crossville, IL, Nola Guinn of Crossville, IL, Billie Mullins (Byrl) of Crossville, IL and Barb Fleck of Carmi, IL; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mary Lou Allison and Leslie Montgomery; paternal grandparents, Pearl and Ausby Taylor; uncles, Mark Montgomery, Steve Montgomery, Jack Taylor, Kenny Taylor and Jimmie Taylor; and great nephew, Josh Maxey.

Carol was a 1987 graduate of Martinsville High School.  She had previously worked at Charles Marine in Casey, IL and Pap R Products in Martinsville, IL.  Carol enjoyed spending time with her family, especially family game night playing cards and board games.  She helped with the local 4-H especially with poultry and equine division; mules were her favorite.     

Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Markwell Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Harper officiating.  Burial will follow in the Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. – 12 noon prior to the service at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. Per CDC Guidelines indoor masks and face coverings are required regardless of vaccination status in the facility. Attendees should also practice social distancing.
