Bradley Allen Black, age 62, of Casey, IL passed away at 7:25 a.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Coles County, IL. He was born July 16, 1961 in Charleston, IL, the son of William Reet Black and Peggy Joanne (Goble) Black.
Survivors include his sisters, Pamela Black of Casey, IL and Debbie Jones of Holly Ridge, NC; aunt, Carolyn Anderson of Casey, IL; nephew, niece, cousins, many friends and his Australian Shepards, Bella and Annie. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and several uncles and aunts.
Brad was a 1979 graduate of Casey High School. He loved farming and worked as a farm hand for local farmers in the area. Brad owned and operated his own deer processing business for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking and was always experimenting with new recipes to share. He attended the Moriah Church of God. Brad loved playing the guitar (he learned his excellent guitar skills from his best friend Roger Biggs); he had several guitars in his collection he cherished. One of his favorite past times was riding his Harley Davidson; he loved the feel of the open road and enjoyed traveling around the area on his motorcycle. Brad was always concerned about others above himself; he was always interested in how you and your family were doing. Brad loved his family, especially his sister Pam, whom was always there for him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Marsh officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
