Bonnie Jean (Garver) McCash

Bonnie Jean (Garver) McCash, age 95, of Casey, IL passed away at 1:35 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Heartland Nursing and Rehabilitation in Casey, IL. She was born September 16, 1926 in Martinsville, IL, the daughter of Col. Ralph Tibbs Garver and Evelyn Mae Fasig Garver. On October 11, 1946 she married Franklin L. “Frank” McCash in Casey, IL; he passed away on June 1, 2011.

Survivors include her children, Ben McCash (Vina) of Burr Ridge, IL, Carol Albert Hille (Rich) of Teutopolis, IL, Tom McCash of Greenup, IL, Barbara Lawrence (John) of Alexandria, IN, John McCash (Donna) of Woodridge, IL, thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, many nephews and nieces, her Church family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Steven Albert; grandson, Sean Patrick McCash; siblings, Patricia Cundiff, Col. Ralph T. Garver II and Betty Faye Nagy.

Bonnie was a 1944 graduate of Martinsville High School. She attended LaGrange College in LaGrange, GA.  Bonnie was a faithful member of the Casey First Christian Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School for over fifty years. Bonnie enjoyed traveling and traveled with her parents to Texas, Georgia, Kansas, and the Philippines. She was the creator of Fanciful Folk by Bonnie and made many beautiful things.  Bonnie had large collections of fossils, sea shells and dolls and had made approximately 250 homemade Smurfs. 

Memorial services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Markwell Funeral Home with Pastor Evan Sherar officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Ruffner Cemetery in Cumberland County, IL.
