Betty Jean Elkins

Betty Jean Elkins, age 82, of Casey, IL passed away at 12:35 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Marshall Rehabilitation and Nursing, Marshall, IL.  She was born May 5, 1937 in Marshall, IL, the daughter of Clifford Martin Sanders and Evelyn Anna Monk Sanders. On September 15, 1985 she married William Kenneth Elkins in Casey, IL; he passed away on September 4, 2002.

Survivors include her daughter, Betty Fouty of Cowden, IL; son Robert Warner (Cindy) of Yale, IL and Terry Cox (Terri) of Casey, IL; brother, Clifford William "Buck" Sanders (Sharon) of Casey, IL; sister, Lessie Freeman of Toledo, IL, nine grandchildren: Misty (Rick) Curl, Michael Fouty, Candy Warner, Travis Warner, Heath Warner, Allison Cox, TJ Cox, AJ Cox and Shawna Cox along with eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her dear cousin, Dorothy Farris, who spent countless hours by her side during her final days. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

 Betty was employed by Ettlebrick Shoe Factory in Casey, IL for 25 years and worked there until their closure in 1984. She then worked for many years at KFC in Casey for Bob and Carol Janssen before eventually retiring from Casey Tool & Machine. 

At her request, there will be no services.

 Memorial donations may be made to Rivalry To Remember, First Neighbor Bank, 918 IL 49, Casey, IL 62420 to help provide respite care to Clark County families who are caring for loved ones with memory related illnesses.

 The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and administration of Marshall Rehabilitation and Nursing for their exceptional care and compassion shown during Betty’s time there.
