Belinda Lou (Crouch) Nickles

Belinda Lou Nickles, age 73, of Casey IL, passed away at 10:07 am Friday February 23 2024. She was born on August 26th 1949 in Terre Haute IN, the daughter of Jaqueline Fitzgerald Crouch and Lowell G Crouch.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dale Nickles, and her eldest son, Kyle Nickles. She is survived by her younger son, Jeff Melee, her grandchildren, Katherine Acharya (Chris), Michael Nickles (Joanna), Zachary Monette, Kyle C. Nickles, Hannah McElyea, Shayla Nickles, and Olivia McElyea, and four great grandchildren, Mason and Jayden Nickles, and Owen and Coraline Mohn.

Belinda Nickles was a strong willed and compassionate woman with a lifelong interest in history. Belinda graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1991 with a master’s degree in History, and spent much of her free time learning about her family lineage and indigenous culture. More than history, Belinda had an unrivaled love and dedication to animal care. Throughout her life, Belinda worked with many different animal rescues, in addition to running her own pet food pantry to assist families within her community. She loved many things but nothing compared to her love for her late husband Dale. Since meeting the two were inseparable.

In death the two will be reunited. In lieu of a funeral service, the family has chosen to have a small intimate family celebration where the ashes of Dale and Belinda Nickles will be scattered so they may rest together for eternity.
