Stephen Michael "Mike" Boone

Stephen Michael “Mike” Boone affectionately known as Boonie, age 82, of Casey, IL passed away at 10:35 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Heartland Nursing and Rehabilitation in Casey, IL. Stephen was born January 8, 1941 in Casey, IL, the son of Alva J. Boone and Stella Mayme (McCash) Boone.

Survivors include several cousins; friends, Butch and Sandy Cox and Ron and Stephanie Cox and their children; and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bonnie Janelle (Boone) Roe; brother, Billy Dan Boone; nephew, John Roe; uncle, Frank McCash and wife Bonnie; and aunt, Jayne Lehman.

Mike was a 1959 graduate of Casey High School. He was a retired Quarry Operator, working 35 years at the Casey Stone Quarry in Casey, IL. Mike was a Heavy Equipment Operator with Operating Engineers #841 of Terre Haute, IN. He was a member of Casey First Christian Church. He was a former member of the North American Hunting Club and Coon Hunters Club. Mike enjoyed coon hounds, beagles, and hunting rabbits and squirrels. He enjoyed watching television, especially wrestling and Swamp People. Boonie was a good ole’ boy, full of laughter and always with a story to share.

Per his wishes he will be laid to rest next to his family in Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, IL.
