Brent D. Hamilton

Brent D. Hamilton, age 61, of Casey, IL passed away on January 19, 2022 at 2:48 a.m. at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN.  Brent came into this world on April 3, 1960 at Union Hospital to parents Herbert O. & Marcella E. (Brandenburg) Hamilton.  In his early years, he was most remembered for his love of wild animals and for the numerous stories of his mischievous and adventurous nature as fondly recounted by his parents and siblings.  

After attending Casey High School, Brent went on to work in the local oil fields and was later employed at Bolin Enterprises, where he worked for 32 years. Brent was well thought of and respected in his career for his work ethic, dedication, and personality. Brent will be remembered most as a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandpa. He was married to Teresa Hand in 1981 with whom he had 3 children, Travis, Elisha, and Blake. On June 6, 2014 he married the love of his life, Debra Dudley, and added stepchildren Travis, Trevor, Tosha, Kelsey, and Katie to his family. Brent and his wife Debbie were very family oriented and loved spending time with their newly blended family.   

When not spending time with family, they greatly enjoyed time with friends and their annual vacations to the beach in Mexico. His interests included Native American culture and artifacts, grilling out, gardening, cooking his world famous chili, lottery tickets, and the occasional cold Milwaukee’s Best. He was loved and cherished by so many that had the opportunity to know him and will be greatly missed for his selflessness, sense of humor and for his easy going and kind nature.   

He is survived by his wife Debra Hamilton, brother Steve Hamilton, children Travis & wife Cristine (grandchildren Gabriel, Caleb, Hayden, Bailey & Everly), Elisha Hamilton and partner David Fox (grandchildren Collin, Brenton) and Blake (grandchild Avalea); step children Travis Harris, Trevor Harris (grandchildren Gavin, Logan, Carter), Tosha Lovell and husband Robert (grandchildren Christian, Caitlynn, Camden, Claire and Corie), Kelsey Palmer and Katie Palmer (grandchild Lyrik) and a number of extended family and longtime friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Marcella Hamilton, father Herbert Hamilton, and sister Kim Grissom. 

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Markwell Funeral Home with Pastor Brooke Davis officiating.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday prior to the service at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.  (Per CDC Guidelines indoor masks and face coverings are required regardless of vaccination status in the facility.  Attendees should also practice social distancing.)
