Bradley Dale Biggs Obituary

Bradley Dale (Brad) Biggs, age 62, of Belleville, IL passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, April 27, 2023, at his residence.  He was born September 29, 1960, in Terre Haute, IN the son of Dale Biggs and Helen Cline Biggs.  He was raised in a small town, Casey, IL and grew up surrounded by his large family.  He had five siblings and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bradley was influenced by his family to be a loving, caring, and humble man.  As a young man he worked in his family’s farm implement business, Biggs and Richards, which served him later in life when he owned his own successful mortgage brokerage business. Brad was a 1978 graduate of Casey High School and obtained a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Eastern Illinois University.

He married his high school sweetheart, Vickie Lorraine Huckstep, just five short years ago on January 20, 2018, in Glen Carbon, IL; followed six days later with a Wedding Moon Ceremony on the beautiful sandy beaches of Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort, Nassau. They were a match made in Heaven.  God blessed them with a son, Alexander, in 2016.  From there they were off on an adventure of a lifetime, enjoying family, friends, and fun road trips and excursions.

As a Christian, Brad was saved early in life. He was called to serve his church, the Casey United Methodist Church, for several years as youth leader, lay leader, and played piano and bells for the music program.  He really loved guiding and being a positive influence for his youth group. Brad also enjoyed playing tennis, fishing, playing ping-pong, boating, exploring nature, enjoying a good joke, and most of all being there for his family.  He will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Vickie Biggs and son, Alexander; mother, Helen Biggs; sisters Janet Squires, Debra Grubb (Mark), and Carla Honselman (Steve); brothers Roger Biggs (Brenda), and Shelby Biggs (Donna); along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his father, R. Dale Biggs.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Casey United Methodist Church, 703 North Central, Casey, IL 62420. Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday May 3, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the Casey United Methodist Church with Rev Dr. Penelope Barber and Rev. Dr. Joe Richard officiating.  Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL.
