Markwell Funeral Homes has served the Casey area since 1927 and Westfield IL since the mid 1950s. Led by three generations of Markwell family members, the business has been the preferred local funeral home for many decades. Jay was able to help George Greenwell, the second generation owner and funeral director of the Greenwell Funeral Home in Martinsville, IL, to retire in 2008.

“George started working in the business at the front door at the age of 5 in a coat and tie. He was ready to not have to be on call anymore. He trusted us enough to hand over the keys, the phones, and the goodwill his family generated in the community for so many years. That trust meant a lot to me,” said Jay.
